Buyer - Communication Services (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the role

Airbus Portugal is looking for a Buyer - Communication Services to cover maternity leave in its Procurement Corporate Services commodity. The role sits in General Procurement, within a multidisciplinary team covering Human Resources, Communication, Travel, Consulting and Business services, and focuses on trans-national procurement of the Communication sub-commodity such as corporate events, exhibitions/airshows and creative services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement worldwide procurement strategies for the Communication portfolio, using continuous market screening to align the preferred supplier base and optimise bundling opportunities across Airbus.
• Manage the end-to-end Call for Tender (CFT) process, from supplier selection through to negotiating, drafting and managing strategic contracts, contract modifications, regular condition negotiations, data updates in information systems, supplier performance and NDAs, in line with Airbus procurement processes.
• Optimise Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and report on savings targets according to SLAs, ensuring supplier deliverables meet agreed cost, time and quality terms.
• Drive supplier relationship management and proactive risk management, including regular supplier assessments and innovation opportunities.
• Act as an extended member of General Procurement, keeping cross-functional alignment and complying with internal processes and Ethics & Compliance rules.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience and potential to develop further in the core countries of the Procurement function.
• Fluent written and spoken English; French and/or German is a plus.
• Delivery-oriented, customer-focused, able to convince and influence, a team player, comfortable with remote work and committed to integrity in supplier selection.

Required skills

• Tendering process, advanced negotiation, legal/contracting and supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of export control and sustainability laws and regulations.
• Adaptability to Airbus E2E procurement tools (Coupa suite, SAP, E-Proc and Airsupply) and familiarity with Google Suite.
