Business Analyst - IT Custody & Tax

About the role

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the IT Banking Services team in Lisbon, supporting a global custody and tax platform for a leading financial institution. The role sits within a 14‑member, globally distributed team and focuses on analysing business needs, shaping functional specifications, and ensuring successful delivery of critical clearing, settlement and custody applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation and analysis with business stakeholders, producing clear functional specifications.
• Provide functional expertise across BaNCS, INFERNO, Corporate Universe and M3 platforms and support functional testing and User Acceptance Testing.
• Manage project and change‑request activities following Waterfall methodology, including release coordination and reporting.
• Identify product gaps, propose improvements and conduct peer reviews to maintain quality standards.
• Offer advanced support to the Service Delivery team on complex incidents and change requests.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on custody and corporate actions.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to challenge business requirements.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Management, Tax or Law.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Jira for requirements tracking.
• Experience working in Waterfall project environments.
• Knowledge of SQL (preferred).
