Budget Management Controller

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Budget Management Controller to join its Global Business Services team in Portugal. You will be responsible for overseeing both non‑recurring and recurring cost targets, ensuring accurate financial planning and reporting across operations and engineering programs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cost targets set by Operations and Engineering programs, both recurring and non‑recurring.
• Plan workload and workforce in line with functional strategy and financial targets.
• Drive the financial and workload planning/forecast process, synthesising plans and challenging contributions.
• Establish consolidated financial reporting, ensuring consistency, compliance and tool alignment.
• Control actuals versus forecasts, propose corrective actions and support management decision‑making.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative performance data, highlighting risks, discrepancies and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in financial controlling or a similar role.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to switch between high‑level overview and detailed analysis.
• Proactive problem‑solver with an entrepreneurial, deliverable‑driven attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, able to build trust quickly in a remote work environment.
• Fluent English; additional languages (French, German, Spanish) are a plus.

Required skills

• Full mastery of Google Suite.
