Backend Software Engineer – Java Microservices & Cloud

About the role
Excelia is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join its multinational consulting and technology team. You will work on Java‑based microservices and cloud solutions, collaborating with interdisciplinary specialists and customers to deliver high‑impact digital products.
Key responsibilities
- Own the sustainable development of backend products within your team.
- Collaborate with specialist departments and clients to translate product ideas into functional solutions.
- Participate in the full DevOps lifecycle, from design through operation.
- Contribute to agile delivery of digital services that create tangible business value.
Required profile
- Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a comparable field.
- Team‑player who enjoys sharing knowledge and finding optimal solutions.
- First professional experience in software development, preferably in logistics.
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
Required skills
- Java 17+
- Spring Framework and Spring Boot
- REST‑based API design
- Message streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS)
- SQL and PostgreSQL
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible)
- Amazon AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
- Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration
- Experience working in agile teams
