Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join the Innovation & Engineering Hub in Lisbon. You will work on the Connected Maps service that supplies up‑to‑date map data to TRATON Group vehicles, helping fleets improve routing, efficiency and navigation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and operate backend solutions on AWS using DevOps practices.
• Build products that interact directly with vehicle fleets and customer systems.
• Apply clean code, clean architecture and common design patterns to create maintainable, scalable software.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of features, collaborating with international developers, architects and testers.
• Continuously improve services, tooling and processes together with the global team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software development.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proven record of delivering reliable solutions.

Required skills

• Python programming, preferably with Flask.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and AWS CDK.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab.
• Knowledge of system design, scaling and maintainability.
• Familiarity with clean code, clean architecture and design patterns.
