Backend API Developer – Python (Sports Trading)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend API Developer to power a cutting‑edge sports trading platform. You will build high‑performance backend systems where milliseconds matter, working with a small, ambitious engineering team in a hybrid setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance backend APIs for a sports‑trading platform.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL databases and data pipelines.
• Implement and scale distributed systems that process real‑time sports data.
• Collaborate with front‑end and infrastructure teams to integrate APIs.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous deployment.

Required profile

• Proven ability to ship production‑ready code autonomously.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments.
• Strong ownership mindset and problem‑solving attitude.
• Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• Interest in sports is a plus.
