Backend API Developer – Python (Sports Trading)

About the role
We are looking for a Backend API Developer to power a cutting‑edge sports trading platform. You will build high‑performance backend systems where milliseconds matter, working with a small, ambitious engineering team in a hybrid setting.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high‑performance backend APIs for a sports‑trading platform.
- Design and optimise PostgreSQL databases and data pipelines.
- Implement and scale distributed systems that process real‑time sports data.
- Collaborate with front‑end and infrastructure teams to integrate APIs.
- Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous deployment.
Required profile
- Proven ability to ship production‑ready code autonomously.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments.
- Strong ownership mindset and problem‑solving attitude.
- Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
- Interest in sports is a plus.
