Automation Technical Lead – Utilities & Building Management Systems (BMS)

About the role

We are looking for an Automation Technical Lead to drive the design, integration, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS) and utilities automation across our facilities. The role works closely with engineering, operations, and IT/OT teams to ensure reliable, compliant, and secure operation of HVAC, central plant, and critical utility systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define automation and BMS technical requirements (URS/FRS, control narratives, I/O lists, network architecture, cybersecurity).
• Develop and review design deliverables such as P&IDs, control diagrams, sequences of operation, panel designs, and wiring schematics.
• Lead vendor and integrator selection, evaluate technical bids, and manage scope definition and RFIs.
• Drive commissioning readiness, support FAT/SAT/IOQ, oversee functional testing, and manage punch‑list closure.
• Coordinate cut‑overs, downtime planning, and operational readiness with Facilities/Operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, change‑control, documentation, and validation standards.
• Mentor engineers and technicians, establishing standards for alarms, trending, graphics, naming conventions, and CMMS/EMS integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of industrial/facilities automation experience, including at least 3 years in a technical‑lead or senior‑engineer role.
• Hands‑on experience with BMS platforms and utilities automation.
