Assistant Controller

About the role

Riskified is looking for an Assistant Controller to join its expanding Finance team in Lisbon. You will help build robust accounting infrastructure, ensure compliance, and collaborate across functions to support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Generate budget vs. actuals analysis and explain key variances.
• Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
• Review revenue contracts for compliance with revenue recognition guidelines.
• Work with auditors on quarterly and annual audits.
• Perform manual billing calculations using BI reports and dashboards.
• Support SOX compliance and drive operational improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in Finance Operations, Accounting or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in high‑tech or start‑up environments is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
