Assembly Engineering Manager

About the role

Hovione is seeking an Assembly Engineering Manager to lead assembly, commissioning and qualification activities for facilities, utility systems and process equipment at its Sete Casas site. The role covers the full lifecycle of capital projects, from early design through GMP‑compliant handover, and requires strong technical ownership combined with people leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, handling recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
• Translate business objectives into clear departmental goals and ensure alignment across the team.
• Plan, manage and execute engineering and maintenance activities following asset lifecycle management principles.
• Deliver capital projects on time, on budget and to the highest cGMP standards, working closely with Process, Quality, HSE and Automation functions.
• Conduct performance reviews, define development plans and support succession planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams within a regulated environment (pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing).
• Strong knowledge of assembly, commissioning, qualification and cGMP compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage full‑lifecycle capital projects and drive operational excellence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
