Application Support Engineer (Relocation to Portugal)

About the role

Affinity, a Portuguese technology consulting company with 350+ associates operating from Lisbon, Porto and Leiria, is looking for an Application Support Engineer. The position involves expatriation to Portugal, specifically Lisbon.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support business-critical applications in production, investigate and resolve incidents, analyse logs, ensure service continuity and follow up on escalations.
• Work closely with infrastructure, development, production and business teams; support deployments, testing, releases, documentation and continuous improvement.
• Handle file transfers and messaging platforms.

Required profile

• Experience in Application Support or Production Support.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication and coordination skills, with a proactive, solution-driven approach.
• Nice to have: banking or financial services experience, ITIL knowledge, experience supporting middleware platforms, scripting (Bash, Shell, Python), and experience with APIs and integration platforms.

Required skills

• Linux/Unix, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache HTTP Server, IBM MQ, Axway CFT/Secure Transport, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, PeSIT, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, SSL/TLS, SSH and VPN.
• Jira and ServiceNow; Control-M and production monitoring tools are a plus; PGP/GPG and TLS knowledge is also valued.
