Application Support Engineer (French Required)

About the role

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer who will provide first‑line support for business‑critical applications, ensuring smooth operation for our clients. The role requires fluency in French and English and will be based in Porto with a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, diagnose and resolve application incidents reported via ticketing systems.
• Collaborate with technical and non‑technical users to gather requirements and communicate resolutions.
• Maintain and update documentation of incidents, problems and changes following ITIL processes.
• Perform data analysis using SQL and generate reports for troubleshooting.
• Support on‑call rotations and shift work as needed.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of experience in Application, IT or Production Support.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication in both French and English.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management.

• Ticketing tools: ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy.
• Database querying with SQL.
• Operating systems: Linux, Unix, Windows.
• Monitoring tools (optional): Zabbix, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk.
• Cloud platforms (optional): AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Scripting/automation: Shell, Python, PowerShell.
• CI/CD pipeline concepts.
