Android Software Engineer

About the role

ActAI is building proactive AI‑driven applications that help users manage everyday tasks with minimal prompting. As an Android Software Engineer you will own the Android client experience, ensuring AI interactions feel natural, reliable and performant on mobile devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production‑grade Android applications using Kotlin.
• Integrate AI‑powered features such as chat, vision, voice and recommendation APIs.
• Design UX patterns for streaming responses, retries and partial results.
• Optimize memory usage, latency and CPU consumption for AI‑heavy flows.
• Implement analytics, logging and feedback mechanisms to support AI evaluation.
• Collaborate with backend and machine‑learning engineers on API contracts and system behavior.
• Ensure app stability, security and scalability in production environments.

Required profile

• 3+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin.
• Hands‑on experience integrating large language models, vision or speech APIs.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow).
• Familiarity with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.
• Proven debugging and performance‑profiling skills.
• Comfort working with latency, partial failures and non‑deterministic behavior.
• Experience with MLKit or on‑device inference and published apps on Google Play.
