ALM Software Engineer – Application Lifecycle Management

About the role

As a member of the Software Excellence Team, you will help increase standardisation and automation across software development by maintaining and improving Bosch's Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) toolchain, primarily based on Atlassian Jira.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the existing ALM toolchain built on Jira and its plugins.
• Ensure the toolchain runs on the latest stable versions and perform thorough testing after each update.
• Minimise downtime and guarantee continuous service availability.
• Support the ongoing improvement of ALM processes and tools.
• Understand tools and processes from both end‑user and administrator perspectives.
• Perform Jira system administration tasks, including custom settings, scripted automation jobs, and workflow design.
• Provide first‑level support to development teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, Information Systems or a related field.
• Experience in software or tool‑infrastructure maintenance.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to quickly analyse, understand, and describe complex problems.
• Result‑oriented mindset with a willingness to drive discussions.
• Openness to new technologies and creative solutions.
• Proactive and highly self‑motivated.
