Airport Operations Agent III (BKL)

About the role

The Airport Operations Agent III supports the Manager of Airport Operations in maintaining the operating certificate for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Burke Lakefront Airport. This senior‑level position supervises junior agents, coordinates daily shift activities, and ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Airport Operations Agents I and II, assign daily duties, and train staff.
• Prepare work and staffing schedules in collaboration with the shift Superintendent.
• Monitor aircraft movements, communicate with airlines, FAA ATC, and other government entities.
• Operate radio, telephone, and emergency equipment; respond to incidents and coordinate emergency vehicles.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of airfield, terminal, and surrounding areas, reporting safety violations and hazardous conditions.
• Manage weather‑related operations, including snow‑removal coordination and dissemination of forecasts.
• Perform wildlife hazing and reduction procedures, including use of pyrotechnic devices or shotguns when required.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of FAA regulations and advisory circulars, ensuring airport compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and FAA advisory circulars.
• Experience supervising operational staff in an airport or similar environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with the public, airlines, and government agencies.
• Physical ability to conduct field patrols and handle emergency equipment.
