AI Architect

About the role

MASSLAB is seeking an AI Architect to lead the integration of artificial intelligence into its architectural practice. The role bridges architecture, computation and organisational strategy, embedding AI throughout the design process from concept to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve AI workflows and a strategic roadmap for AI integration.
• Research, evaluate and pilot emerging AI tools (image generation, LLMs, generative systems) for relevance to architectural projects.
• Design and implement AI‑driven processes across all design phases.
• Develop lightweight custom tools, scripts and automation systems to support design teams.
• Support project teams in adopting AI tools and ensure meaningful, ethically grounded use.
• Structure and manage project data to enable future AI applications and training datasets.
• Create internal guidelines for ethical and effective AI use in architecture.
• Lead internal training sessions, workshops and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Strong understanding of architectural design processes and project workflows.
• Demonstrated interest or experience with AI tools applied to design (image generation, large language models, generative systems).
• Critical awareness of AI implications in architecture such as authorship, ethics and decision‑making.
• Familiarity with computational design tools.
