Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

Airbus Portugal is looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant for its GBS team in Lisbon. The role covers invoice analysis, purchase order assessment, support of corporate travel programs and responses to vendor inquiries. It suits recent graduates or junior accountants with experience in accounting administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Receive invoices, check the accuracy of items ordered, received and priced, and obtain approval from the relevant Department Head
• Investigate and resolve exception invoices linked to invoices and purchase orders
• Prepare invoices for payment
• Handle routine internal and external inquiries on account status, including resolving discrepancies
• Act as a liaison between departments and vendors, and maintain vendor statements with selected vendors
• Comply with safety and finance, accounts payable, purchasing and supply chain policies, and carry out ad hoc tasks assigned by the Leadership team

Required profile

• Recent graduate or junior accountant, or experience in accounting administrative tasks
• Advanced English; French, German or Spanish is a plus
• Finance or accounting degree, or experience in administrative accounting
• Ability to process at least 80 invoices daily with 98% accuracy
• Ability to handle high volumes of data entry and to resolve invoice issues with the right parties
