Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join Farfetch's Finance team in our Porto office. You will support the monthly and yearly closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post accounting entries with accuracy and timeliness.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Assist with tax return preparation and statutory reporting.
• Provide documentation for internal and external audits.
• Perform accounting controls and SOX activities according to procedures.
• Analyse accounting data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and standardisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance teams and business stakeholders to resolve queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Accounting or Financial Reporting.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive, organised and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of SOX controls.
