Accountant (French & English Speaking)

About the role

The Accountant will manage financial transactions, prepare reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards for French entities while supporting operations in Portugal. This position requires bilingual communication in French and English and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and reconcile profit & loss, balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes in line with IFRS and GAAP.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Process invoices, payments and employee expense reports; monitor collections and reconcile vendor/customer accounts.
• Prepare VAT, corporate and payroll tax filings and ensure statutory compliance.
• Assist in annual budgeting, financial forecasting and variance analysis.
• Support implementation and improvement of accounting systems, automating reporting and reconciliation where possible.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of end‑to‑end accounting experience.
• Experience in CRO, pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to collaborate across teams and countries.
