Accountant – Finance Operations

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join our finance team at our Porto facility. The role supports day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring accurate records, timely month‑end and year‑end closings, and compliance with internal controls and reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger, bank statements and credit‑card accounts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records and general ledger entries.
• Support the financial close process and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Organise and maintain financial documentation in line with best practices.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls.
• Assist internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments on financial matters and reporting needs.
• Support implementation, optimisation and maintenance of accounting systems and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• More than five years of experience in accounting or a related financial role.
• Certified Accountant (TOC/Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados) certification.
• Knowledge of Portuguese tax requirements, GAAP, IFRS and financial reporting is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality and organizational skills.
