Structural/FEA Engineer - Generator

About the role

Vestas is seeking a Structural/FEA Engineer to join the Generator submodule within its R&D organisation. The role focuses on the mechanical and structural development of wind turbine generators, ensuring reliable and cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop generator structural concepts from requirements through detailed design and verification.
• Perform structural assessments using ANSYS Mechanical, including static, dynamic, extreme‑load, fatigue and modal analyses.
• Design steel structures, castings, weldments and bolted connections for generator components.
• Manage engineering change requests, risk assessments and DFMEA activities.
• Collaborate with global suppliers, project managers and technical experts using Windchill and Jira.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of product development and structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Familiarity with Six‑Sigma tools and engineering change management.
