Software Developer – Java & Angular (Hybrid)

About the role

GBT Solutions is looking for an experienced Software Developer to join its remote‑first team, with occasional on‑site collaboration in The Hague. You will work on cutting‑edge defence‑related systems, delivering Java backend services and modern Angular front‑ends.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based backend modules and services.
• Build and enhance web UIs using TypeScript and Angular.
• Implement interoperability features such as CESMO integration and historical track data.
• Create and maintain unit, integration, and regression test suites.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, source‑code management, and Docker‑based deployments.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, defects, and operational incidents.
• Maintain technical documentation, release notes, and user guides.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Assist with on‑site workshops, interoperability events, and customer engagements when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on Java development.
• 2+ years of experience with TypeScript and/or Angular.
• Proven experience integrating systems via REST APIs or messaging.
• Experience with near real‑time, data‑intensive applications.
• Strong English communication skills.
