Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Iterable is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve the core product used by thousands of customers worldwide. You will work on high‑impact projects that drive strategic value, shape technical design, and raise the overall capability of the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to roadmap and planning sessions to enhance product value.
• Collaborate with product, design, and cross‑functional teams to define and build new features.
• Own the full lifecycle of projects from design through production deployment and monitoring.
• Design and implement scalable solutions for a platform serving millions of users.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor teammates.
• Use design discussions to improve both the product and the engineering culture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building production‑ready, scalable web applications.
• Proficiency in a modern language, preferably Scala or Java.
• Extensive work with Elasticsearch and/or PostgreSQL.
• Comfortable working in a remote, distributed environment and willing to take on‑call duties.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and legally authorized to work in Portugal.
