Senior Software Engineer, Full-stack

About the role

Pairwise is looking for a senior full‑stack engineer to join a fast‑moving, high‑ownership team building an AI‑powered staffing platform. You will work on‑site, shaping both product direction and engineering culture while delivering technically challenging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and ship core product end‑to‑end, building complex logic flows with Python/Django and responsive interfaces with React.
• Design, implement and maintain the Applied AI layer, including retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) workflows, agentic behaviours, LLM orchestration and evaluation pipelines.
• Own technical planning: translate high‑level product goals into concrete implementation plans and break work into actionable tickets.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct thoughtful code reviews and raise the overall quality of the codebase.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to shape roadmap and ensure a seamless user experience.

Required profile

• Proven experience building full‑stack applications, comfortable with both backend (Python/Django) and frontend (React) development.
• Strong ownership mindset – identifies business goals, designs solutions and ships them without waiting for detailed specifications.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving, high‑ownership environment and thrive under pressure.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, refusing to ship flaky code.
• Passion for learning new AI/LLM technologies and applying them to product challenges.
