Senior Financial Controller

About the role

COCON is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to own and operate the finance engine across its UK and Netherlands entities. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end financial execution, ensuring accurate reporting, cash management and compliance for a fast‑growing hospitality wellness business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a 13‑week rolling cash‑flow forecast refreshed weekly and manage collections and payments for both UK and NL entities.
• Lead month‑end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, inter‑company entries and continuous improvement of close speed.
• Calculate and settle monthly revenue‑share and profit‑share agreements with five‑star hotel partners, ensuring accurate cross‑charge invoicing.
• Oversee supplier payables, payroll coordination with UK and Dutch payroll partners, and therapist payment cycles.
• Manage compliance calendars for VAT, statutory filings, insurance and registrations in both jurisdictions.
• Maintain and enhance the modern finance stack (Xero, Dext, Trybe POS, dashboards, Airtable) and keep contract and expiry registers up to date.
• Produce monthly business review packs, site‑level P&L statements, breakeven analyses and KPI dashboards for internal stakeholders and upcoming investors.

Required profile

• Enjoys owning the work in a lean environment and can operate independently with minimal delegation.
• Qualified, part‑qualified or QBE accountant with 5+ years of hands‑on finance experience in multi‑entity businesses, preferably hospitality, leisure or consumer services.
• Proven track record of owning month‑end closes and cash‑forecasting processes.
• Comfortable navigating an international structure with UK core and Dutch group entities.
