Product Director, Banking Foundation

About the role

Shine is building Europe’s leading financial copilot for small businesses. As Product Director of the Banking Foundation you will own the core banking platform that underpins all other product teams, shaping its roadmap for the next 12‑24 months and ensuring it can scale across multiple European markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the end‑to‑end roadmap for Ledger, Payment Rails, Financial Integrity & Operations and Banking Enablement.
• Set OKRs, align them with banking tribe objectives and balance market launches against platform investments.
• Lead, coach and grow the product managers and engineering leads in the area, handling hiring and performance.
• Run Payment Rails as product manager during the initial period and recruit a successor.
• Prioritise platform capacity across Cards, Money Movement, Lending and Compliance, making trade‑off decisions and presenting them to senior leadership.
• Shape architecture decisions – build vs buy, provider selection and multi‑market implementation.

Required profile

• 6+ years of product experience, including several years in payments, core banking or financial infrastructure.
• Proven track record of shipping products where errors have financial impact.
• Experience managing product managers and hiring at least one direct report.
• Comfortable discussing double‑entry ledgers, settlement, reconciliation, SEPA and SWIFT with senior engineers.
• Background in regulated environments, treating compliance as part of the product.
• Ability to make decisions with incomplete data and communicate confidence levels.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
