Senior Electrical/Wiring Designer – High Voltage Substations

About the role

This senior position works within a project team to design high‑voltage substation wiring and related schematics, collaborating with engineers and other designers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare single‑line relaying & metering diagrams, AC & DC schematics, equipment interconnection wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and interpret vendor information for design deliverables.
• Conduct walk‑downs at client substation facilities.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience preparing and reviewing wiring diagrams for high‑voltage substations (138 kV and above).
• Associate’s degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, write).

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid.
• Strong multitasking across multiple projects.
