Senior Developer – AI‑Driven Cultural Experiences

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Developer to join a fast‑growing AI‑driven startup that creates interactive experiences for museums, science centres and heritage sites. As the first dedicated engineering hire, you will shape the technical foundation of the product suite and help define the company’s long‑term strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship full‑stack features across web, mobile, backend and AI‑integration layers.
• Establish cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and coding standards.
• Collaborate closely with the AI/ML Engineer on 3D avatar, voice and conversational AI architecture.
• Translate research outputs from university partners into production‑ready code.
• Mentor future engineering hires and contribute to building the engineering culture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Comfortable working across modern stacks and in a research‑to‑pilot environment.
• Fluent English with strong written communication for asynchronous collaboration.
• Interest in cultural and educational technology.

What we offer

• Base salary of €65‑70k (paid over 14 months).
• Opportunity to evolve into a CTO role.
• Hybrid work model: 2‑3 days in the Lisbon Unicorn Factory office, the rest remote.
