Senior Backend Developer – Node.js (Remote, Europe)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing global consumer technology company seeking a Senior Backend Developer specialized in Node.js to join our international engineering team. You will own server‑side architecture, backend services, and data infrastructure, working closely with DevOps and product teams to scale real‑time digital products used by millions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design new features.
• Optimise services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement security and data‑protection best practices.
• Design and manage data storage solutions.
• Develop reusable backend components and libraries.
• Contribute to testing strategies, including unit and end‑to‑end testing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer.
• Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Solid understanding of TDD, SOLID principles, and software design practices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience monitoring and optimising system performance.
• At least B2 level English proficiency.
