Security Engineer – SOC & Incident Response

About the role

OLX is looking for a Security Engineer to join its Security Operations Center (SOC) in Portugal. Reporting to the Head of Security, you will help design, implement, and automate security incident management processes while collaborating with cross‑functional tech teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the SOC by handling incident response lifecycle and escalation.
• Develop and deliver incident response training across the organization.
• Integrate OLX platforms and services with the SOC.
• Participate in protect‑detect‑respond engineering, threat hunting, and threat intelligence improvement.
• Build and maintain automated alerting and escalation processes.
• Create custom integrations using Python and Bash in containerised environments such as Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with Tech, Privacy, and Compliance teams to streamline security.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in security operations and incident response.
• Hands‑on experience with the Elastic stack for SIEM.
• Strong background working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Understanding of modern security technologies (WAF, SSDLC, IAM, IDS/IPS, SOAR, SIEM, MDM, XDR, AV).
• Familiarity with security and privacy frameworks (NIST, ISO27001, CIS, PCI DSS, GDPR, NIS2).
