Rust Developer – High‑Performance Travel Pricing Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Rust Developer to join the Ferris DevOps team at Siemens Mobility’s Sqills unit in Aveiro. The team builds a travel‑proposition platform that calculates prices and books seats for major rail and bus operators in microseconds.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Rust‑based backend services that process high‑volume asynchronous requests.
• Design and implement a web management interface for configuring the pricing system.
• Optimize code for performance, reliability and scalability in a micro‑service architecture.
• Collaborate with the team to share workloads and leverage each member’s strengths.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline and monitor production services.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Informatics or a related field.
• Professional experience with Rust; experience with Java, Go, Kotlin or JavaScript is a plus.
• Familiarity with SaaS applications and micro‑service architectures.
• Good knowledge of AWS services.
