Production, R&D & Projects Manager

About the role

ChemiTek is seeking a hands‑on manager to own the entire production chain, support research and development, and drive funded innovation projects. You will work directly on the shop floor and collaborate with every department, enjoying real autonomy in a fast‑growing chemical company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the production team: assign tasks, set daily priorities and enforce quality and safety standards.
• Plan and release work orders in the ERP system, ensuring the production schedule stays on track.
• Manage inventories of raw materials, packaging and finished goods in close partnership with purchasing.
• Work alongside operators on the floor whenever production demands.
• Partner with R&D to scale up new formulations and optimise processes.
• Prepare, submit and manage applications for innovation funding programmes (Portugal 2030, EU funds), including reporting and payment claims.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation and coordinate daily with Sales, Logistics, Quality and R&D.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Biology, Materials or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial production environment.
• Proven experience leading production teams.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Based in or near Esposende with a valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems for production planning and stock management.
• Working knowledge of innovation funding programmes such as Portugal 2030 and EU funds.
• Fluent written and spoken Portuguese and English.
