Procurement Team Leader

About the role

Airbus Portugal is seeking a Procurement Team Leader to manage and develop its procurement operations in Coimbra. You will support the Head of Sourcing, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement across procurement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Sourcing on assessments, promotions, competency management and training.
• Implement and supervise General Procurement policies, process harmonisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Escalate and resolve back‑office issues related to procurement processes and applications.
• Manage commodity activities such as call for tenders, contract management, queries/claims and support litigation topics.
• Supervise team workload in coordination with the Commodity Manager and liaise with core‑country managers.
• Build strong relationships with internal customers and collaborate on daily problem‑solving.
• Support local procurement and commodity heads on special projects, including system evolution.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of procurement experience in a commercial or industrial environment.
• Proven team‑management experience, including issue escalation, training and team support.
• Strong communication, rigor and ability to organise multiple tasks and build cross‑functional relationships.
• Fluent English; additional European languages (French, German, Spanish) are a plus.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP (desirable).
