Powertrain Quality Engineer

About the role

Vestas is seeking a Powertrain Quality Engineer to drive quality improvements for wind turbine powertrain components. The role focuses on design‑phase quality, closed‑loop quality monitoring, and root‑cause analysis across bearings, gearboxes, torque arms, couplings and generators.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee closed‑loop quality processes and systemic root‑cause analysis activities.
• Support LPF (Life Prediction Function) monitoring and predictive analysis.
• Conduct RCA for CIM, QBD, NC and alarm cases, gathering safety data from the value chain.
• Maintain the knowledge base and promote sharing of best practices.
• Track Critical to Quality (CTQ) tasks and update the risk register for lead & lag indicators.
• Evaluate and implement special characteristics at suppliers and factories, including prediction activities.
• Represent PTR Quality in internal factory and supplier audits.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in mechanical, chemical, automotive, production or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in risk management and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean and APQP knowledge.
• Strong problem‑solving, structured and methodical approach.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a global environment.
