Platform Engineer

About the role

Springer Nature is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to shape, build and continuously improve its unified platforms. You will work within the SN Technology Engineering team to provide a reliable, secure foundation that enables product teams worldwide to deliver value faster.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance unified platforms and integrated capabilities.
• Maintain platform stability through documentation, updates, and security patches.
• Drive the Platform‑First strategy and prioritize Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.
• Promote adoption of best‑in‑class developer tools and improve platform usability, performance and security.
• Collaborate on core capabilities such as observability, continuous integration, security and storage.
• Work with a distributed, multicultural team across London, Dordrecht, Berlin and Lisbon.

Required profile

• Proven experience in platform engineering or related DevOps roles.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative, distributed environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on reliability and security.
