Plant Controller

About the role

The Plant Controller will steer the financial and operational performance of a manufacturing site, working directly on the shop floor. This hands‑on role combines financial controlling, cost management and team leadership to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee accuracy and reliability of all accounting and financial information for the plant, ensuring compliance with standards and internal controls.
• Oversee monthly closing, produce timely and high‑quality financial reports, and manage budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Monitor and analyse plant KPIs (financial, operational, cost, quality, inventory) and create real‑time dashboards in Power BI and Excel.
• Control costs by tracking raw‑material consumption, standard costs, production variances, overheads and margins.
• Partner with production, supply‑chain, maintenance and quality teams to translate operational data into financial impact.
• Validate investment feasibility, follow project performance and manage operating cash‑flow, working capital and CapEx execution.
• Provide clear financial recommendations and decision‑support materials for plant and Group leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial finance or controlling.
• Fluent English and strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting, standard costing and industrial controlling.
• Advanced data‑analysis capabilities, including trend, variance and scenario modelling.
• Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for management.
• Strong communication, leadership and hands‑on mindset, comfortable working on the shop floor.

Required skills

• Power BI – dashboard creation, data modelling and automation.
• Advanced Excel – pivot tables, Power Query, formulas (macros a plus).
• ERP systems – Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Oracle or equivalent.
• Data‑analysis techniques – trend analysis, variance analysis, scenario modelling.
