Pharmacy Operations Night Shift Manager

About the role

The Pharmacy Operations Night Shift Manager leads the night‑time warehouse activities for Cardinal Health, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely distribution of medications to acute‑care, hospital, ambulatory, and retail customers. This role reports to the VP of Operations and oversees a team of 50+ staff.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee night‑shift warehouse operations, order fulfillment, and medication distribution in line with operational standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate administrative tasks such as inventory management, efficiency projects, and risk mitigation.
• Supervise daily department activities, manage a workforce of supervisors and support staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain pharmacist certification records, database access privileges, and data confidentiality.
• Collaborate with EHS, IT, Customer Service, and Opex to support seamless pharmacy and warehouse functions.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management for the night‑shift team.
• Participate in internal and external meetings, providing operational expertise and recommendations.
• Drive strategic initiatives to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and support sustainable growth.
• Monitor quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and prepare month‑end operational reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
• Active Puerto Rico pharmacy license and required certifications.
• 5+ years of pharmacist experience, with supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical, leadership, conflict‑resolution, and communication abilities.
• Experience in distribution or manufacturing environments is a plus.
