Monetization Specialist (Product Growth)

About the role

Air Apps, a Lisbon-founded company building an AI-powered personal and entrepreneurial resource planner, is looking for a Monetization Specialist to scale its growth. You will own subscription and ad monetization strategies across the mobile app portfolio, working with cross-functional teams to design pricing, paywalls, upsell flows, retention strategies and ad placements while keeping user experience central.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze industry trends and competitor strategies to find monetization opportunities.
• Design and implement strategies to maximize subscription and ad revenue.
• Create user segmentation frameworks and experimentation hypotheses for monetization.
• Model financial opportunities and expected outcomes for monetization initiatives.
• Analyze pricing strategies and benchmarks to improve subscription pricing.
• Set up and manage subscriptions and pricing tiers on App Store Connect.
• Experiment with in-app paywall placements, layouts and calls-to-action to optimize conversion.
• Develop win-back strategies for lapsed users and initiatives to reduce churn.
• Identify upsell opportunities and strategies, and improve free trial starts and onboarding flows.
• Ensure monetization does not harm the user experience and document strategies, tests and performance data.
• Maintain compliance with Apple's policies and international regulations.

Required profile

• About 4+ years of experience in mobile app monetization, focused on subscriptions and/or ad revenue.
• Solid understanding of in-app purchases, paywall design, pricing models and subscription lifecycle management.
• Experience with ad monetization platforms and A/B testing tools.
• Strong analytical skills, including cohort analysis, revenue modeling and performance reporting.
• Familiarity with App Store Connect and Apple's monetization policies.
• Collaborative, able to work with product, design and engineering teams.
