Linux Systems Administrator

About the role

Fyld, a Portuguese consulting firm specializing in IT services, is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join its high‑performance team. The role is based in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area and focuses on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable Linux‑based infrastructure for a variety of client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers across major distributions (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat).
• Manage web servers (Apache, Nginx) and database servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB).
• Set up and administer email services (Postfix, Exim, Dovecot).
• Implement security measures, including firewalls, iptables, SELinux, and AppArmor.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Administer network services and protocols (SSH, DNS, HTTP/S, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP, NFS, SFTP/FTPS).
• Support firewall and router configuration.
• Collaborate on cloud‑based deployments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) when required.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a Linux Systems Administrator.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Strong analytical mindset and commitment to high standards.
