Legal Counsel (Private Markets)

About the role

Revolut is expanding its private‑markets offering and needs a Legal Counsel to design and own the legal framework for alternative investment products. You will work closely with commercial teams and the GM of Alternatives to bring new investment vehicles to market while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and oversee complex investment vehicles such as AIFs, ELTIFs, UCITS, SPVs and PCCs.
• Lead legal due diligence on private‑market transactions, manage deal execution and review organisational documents.
• Ensure compliance with AIFMD, MiFID II, MiFIR, EMIR, PRIIPs and related regulations to enable distribution of alternative assets.
• Partner with product and commercial teams to scope, launch and monitor new investment features for diverse customer segments.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with private‑market funds.
• Provide clear, actionable legal advice that balances commercial objectives with regulatory constraints.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law (or equivalent) with strong academic record and experience at a top law firm.
• At least 5 years of experience in wealth, trading, investment services, financial markets or asset‑management legal practice.
• Demonstrated expertise advising on MiFID II, MiFIR, EMIR, PRIIPs, UCITS and related policy frameworks.
• Proven track record in fund formation, private‑market transactions and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of AIFMD, MiFID II, MiFIR, EMIR, PRIIPs and UCITS regulations.
• Experience structuring Alternative Investment Funds, ELTIFs, SPVs and other investment vehicles.
• Strong analytical and risk‑assessment abilities in the context of private‑market products.
