Lean Specialist – Construction (Life Sciences North America)

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Lean Specialist to support Life Sciences projects across the United States. You will work closely with the Director of Lean Implementation to drive Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout design, procurement, construction, and CQV phases. The role combines training, coaching, and hands‑on implementation of Lean tools in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement activities for Life Sciences construction projects.
• Collaborate with Project Management teams to embed Lean strategies during design, procurement, construction, and CQV phases.
• Facilitate and stand up the Last Planner System® (LPS), including training internal staff, vendors, and trade partners.
• Manage LPS software, provide user training, and ensure effective use of collaboration tools.
• Support visual management, 5S, and other construction‑related Lean processes.
• Coordinate Lean initiatives with safety, digital delivery, off‑site fabrication, modularization, and IPD strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in design and/or construction, preferably in complex manufacturing, life‑science, or EPCM environments.
• Proven expertise in implementing the Last Planner System®.
• Strong technical background in engineering, pre‑construction, or construction management.
• LCI Certified Practitioner‑Construction is a plus.
