Lead Frontend Engineer – React (Nearshore)

About the role

Devoteam Portugal is looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to join its Nearshore team. You will work directly with an international client in the UK, shaping the front‑end architecture for tech‑led facilities management and infrastructure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front‑end applications using React.js.
• Ensure code quality through best practices, testing, and performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate RESTful APIs and services.
• Participate in agile processes, including sprint planning and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Stay current with React.js trends and ecosystem updates.
• Lead architectural decisions and mentor junior or mid‑level engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of front‑end development experience, primarily with React.js.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Advanced experience with state‑management libraries such as Redux or Context API.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern tooling (Webpack, Babel, etc.).
• Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services for front‑end delivery (S3, CloudFront, Lambda@Edge).
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, conduct code reviews, and set engineering standards.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
