About the role

Frost Law is looking for a motivated Law Clerk to join its expanding San Juan office. This broad‑based position provides hands‑on exposure to tax controversy, business law, bankruptcy, and SBA EIDL loan matters, allowing you to work directly with experienced attorneys on active client matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, case law, IRS guidance, and relevant Puerto Rico and federal statutes.
• Draft memoranda, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents under attorney supervision.
• Assist with federal and state tax controversy matters, including audits, appeals, collection actions, and Tax Court proceedings.
• Support business law tasks such as entity formation, contract review, and corporate compliance.
• Prepare bankruptcy filings, schedules, and related documentation.
• Help manage SBA EIDL loan matters, including compliance, workout negotiations, and restructuring.
• Participate in the preparation and negotiation of tax resolutions like Offers in Compromise and Installment Agreements.
• Organize and maintain case files and legal records across multiple practice areas.
• Communicate professionally with clients, government agencies, and outside counsel as directed.
• Attend client meetings, hearings, and case strategy sessions when needed.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an accredited law school (2L or 3L preferred), a recent graduate, or a licensed attorney awaiting bar admission.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Interest in tax, business, bankruptcy, or federal lending law; related coursework or experience is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
