Junior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Welvaart is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join its software factory. You will help ensure that user‑facing services and production systems run smoothly while supporting the team’s automation and release processes.

Key responsibilities

• Automate and improve development and release pipelines.
• Monitor production applications, guaranteeing high availability and performance.
• Provide system administration, including troubleshooting, patching, and configuration management.
• Enforce privacy and security‑by‑design principles.
• Implement modern monitoring tools for a holistic view of services.
• Deliver end‑to‑end solutions across the software development lifecycle using DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with engineering to promote DevOps best practices.
• Research and prototype new technologies to enhance DevOps processes.
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation workflows.
• Coordinate releases with stakeholders and take ownership of deliverables.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience with Ansible, Docker and cloud‑based services.
• Experience supporting production systems and working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS is a plus) and service monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python or Go.
• Understanding of public/private networks, on‑premise servers and container‑based applications.
• Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Fluency in English.
