AI Lead

About the role

Metyis is expanding its Data & Analytics team in Porto and seeks an AI Lead with at least five years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure and IT architecture. The role combines technical ownership of AI solutions with close collaboration across data, IT and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure technical consistency and portability of AI solutions, acting as custodian of architectural standards.
• Establish robust data and technology foundations that guarantee scalability, reliability, security and trust.
• Advise on solution design and target architecture for AI applications, guiding teams toward future‑proof choices.
• Oversee integration, management and scaling of AI systems, coordinating between data, IT and business functions.
• Monitor AI infrastructure performance, manage costs and schedule model updates.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or IT architecture with hands‑on exposure to AI tooling.
• Proven ability to set architectural standards across multiple teams or projects.
• Experience reviewing and approving technical decisions made by engineers or vendors.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical constraints for business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) – Azure and Databricks preferred.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Monitoring and observability tooling.
• Data architecture principles: data warehousing, data lakes, governance frameworks.
• Understanding of AI/ML components: model serving, data pipelines, vector databases, orchestration frameworks.
