Junior Accountant

About the role

Nonius is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its Finance & Administrative team in Maia, Portugal. You will support core accounting and financial operations, bringing a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers to a fast‑evolving technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and register financial documents, perform bank reconciliations and assist with monthly closing tasks.
• Process vendor invoices, monitor expenditures, handle payment inquiries and reconcile entries against system reports.
• Verify employee expense reports and assist HR with salary disbursements.
• Support collections tasks and help gather documentation to ensure fiscal compliance alongside the Chartered Accountant.
• Prepare data for the monthly Finance & Administration department meeting and handle general administrative duties.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent field.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to use AI tools in daily work.
• Strong communication, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Nice to have: TOC certification, additional languages, relevant accounting experience.
