International Human Resources Manager

About the role

The International Human Resources Manager acts as a strategic partner to country managers and functional leaders, driving HR initiatives that align with Voltalia’s global culture and business objectives across Portugal and other international locations.

Key responsibilities

• Support Country Managers as the primary HR interlocutor, translating business strategies into local HR actions and managing change.
• Oversee full recruitment cycles, ensure candidate experience, and maintain budget compliance.
• Design and deliver regional training and development programs, coordinate vendors, and manage performance appraisal cycles.
• Adapt and implement Voltalia Group HR policies to local legal requirements, prepare employment contracts, and manage payroll providers.
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese labour law and relevant European/African regulations, handling legal issues in collaboration with legal teams.
• Serve as trusted point of contact for employee relations, drive engagement and wellness initiatives, and analyse turnover data.
• Participate in group HR projects such as HRIS implementation and benefits harmonisation, and support salary review processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior generalist or business‑partner role within an international matrix organisation.
• Experience in the renewable‑energy sector is a distinct advantage.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Portuguese Labour Law.
• Working knowledge of employment laws in other European or African countries where Voltalia operates.
• Proven expertise in end‑to‑end recruitment, talent development and performance management.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Talentsoft, Workday or SuccessFactors.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
