Internal Auditor

About the role

BNP Paribas is seeking an Internal Auditor to join its Iberian Peninsula Internal Audit Hub based in Lisbon. You will work within a fast‑growing team that conducts audit assignments across all BNP Paribas activities in Portugal and Spain, gaining exposure to senior management and a broad range of banking operations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Group’s strategy, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Evaluate risk‑control frameworks and assess the quality of governance structures.
• Identify findings, issue recommendations and support implementation to mitigate risks and improve performance.
• Collaborate with audit teams of 3‑4 members and a Head of Assignment on missions lasting 2‑4 months.
• Participate in cross‑border assignments with the Spanish team or other international audit hubs when travel opportunities arise.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Audit or Law.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a business line or risk function within BNP Paribas or a competitor, or at least 2 years in a consultancy or Big‑4 environment.
• Fluent English (C1‑C2) with strong analytical, communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, adapt to changing priorities and pay meticulous attention to detail.
