HVAC Technician

About the role

The HVAC & Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems across all areas of a hotel, including guest rooms, kitchens, common spaces and back‑of‑house facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system faults, interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Maintain and calibrate HVAC control systems, electrical components and related plumbing.
• Ensure all work complies with safety codes, industry standards and hotel policies.
• Document service activities and report recurring issues to management.

Required profile

• Accredited trade school or college coursework in HVAC.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on HVAC and refrigeration experience, preferably in a commercial or hospitality environment.
• Active membership in the CTRAPR.
• Working knowledge of HVAC control, electrical and plumbing systems related to HVAC/R.
