HSQE Manager – Safety & Environment Lead

About the role

Q ENERGY is seeking an experienced HSQE Manager to support its growing renewable energy portfolio in Portugal. Based in Porto, you will work closely with construction and operational teams on solar, wind, and battery storage projects, ensuring health, safety, quality and environmental standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain the QHSE management system in line with corporate strategy.
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese QHSE regulations and support QHSE certifications.
• Monitor processes, drive continuous improvement and support local teams in applying QHSE procedures.
• Conduct internal audits and site inspections across offices, construction sites and operational facilities.
• Coordinate mandatory trainings, medical exams, waste management, environmental compliance and PPE management.
• Report, investigate and follow up on incidents, non‑conformities and corrective actions.
• Manage supplier evaluation and customer satisfaction monitoring, driving improvement actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in HSQE Management or equivalent (e.g., TSST certification).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in energy, construction or industrial sectors.
• Proven experience setting up ISO compliance processes and conducting internal audits.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
