HR Generalist – Lisbon

About the role

Turner & Townsend’s Iberia HR team is expanding in Portugal and is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to lead local HR operations in Lisbon. Reporting to the Iberia HR Lead based in Spain, you will own the full employee lifecycle for the Portuguese entity, supporting the integration of the transferred CBRE team and driving HR excellence across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end onboarding, delivering engaging new‑hire orientations and ensuring smooth integration of new employees.
• Act as the primary HR contact for employee relations issues, collaborating with Iberia and Europe HR teams as needed.
• Implement and administer compensation and benefits programmes in line with Portuguese regulations and support annual rewards cycles.
• Own the monthly payroll process, preparing data for the external payroll provider.
• Maintain compliance with Portuguese labour law, draft and update policies, manage employment contracts, work‑time recording, health & safety requirements and termination procedures.
• Coordinate learning initiatives, training sessions and career development activities.
• Support performance review cycles and talent development processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Generalist handling the full employee lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Hands‑on, proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and collaborate across borders.
• Fluent in English; Portuguese language proficiency required.
